When is the Restaurant going to open?

At this time, and really until we have a vaccine widely available, Julienne sadly will not be open with the full waiter/ dining experience –as we have had for the past 35 years. Social Distancing mandates for both the kitchen AND the patio made us reimagine what the dining experience could look and feel like “a la Julienne.” We adapted and pivoted …transforming both the interior space and the patio into a walk up Espresso/ Wine Bar. It actually looks the same, but with a few little tweeks. It works well–and FEELS good. The patio now has blooming flower garden pots and we new marble bistro size tables (we were able to match the marble color) are socially distanced. French jazz and a cheerful greeter at the front door invite you to sit and relax under the cooling overhead fans. Please order directly from the Espresso Bar/ Wine Bar as there is no waiter service. The Espresso Bar also addresses the need for “quick service”– get a single sandwich, ice tea, cookie, salad, latte instead of waiting in the Gourmet Market line. And Herbert is still here to make your drinks just the way he always has–he likely still remembers yours!

Can I still order Hot Food from the Restaurant Menu like I used to?

No, unfortunately, that menu no longer exists. See the current Espresso Bar Menu.

So what can I get from The Espresso Bar?

Iced latte, iced tea, breakfast pastries, pre-packaged sandwiches and salads from The Gourmet Market, chips, single cookies or scones. A refreshing mimosa. Wine by the glass or the bottle. This is the Express Espresso Bar!

Can I sit down to eat?

Yes, please do! Choose an available table after you’ve picked up your food. We sanitize the tables after every use, and offer hand sanitizer and spray for you to be able to clean the tables yourself. We appreciate your disposing of trash in the receptacles provided.

How many people can fit at a table?

The bistro tables are designed to accommodate 2-3 people only and we ask that you leave them where they are (please don’t combine tables).

Can I reserve a table?

No, the tables are first come, first serve.

Do you have high chairs?

Not at this time.

Can I make a reservation?

Not at this time. Seating is on a first-come, first serve basis. We cannot hold tables, and actually we don’t have a Host position right now. We know and trust our patrons will considerately work it out among themselves.

Where is the Restaurant Team now?

Many are happily still with us. Herbert is manning the Espresso Bar, Santos is in the Food Packaging Department, Manny is in Merchandise Dept, Jorge is prepping food in the Kitchen, Ricky is making Pastries and the cooks have all joined forces with The Gourmet Market Kitchen team!

Can I special order a Birthday Cake? What else can I special order?

Yes, please call the Order Dept and they will walk through the options. Please note a 2-day lead time, but sometimes we are able to do a cake on shorter notice.

What are you hours/days?

Right now our hours are Monday-Saturday, 9am-5pm but effective September 13, 2020 we will be open 7 days, 9am-5pm.

Do you still offer Curbside pick up and/or Delivery?

Yes. Please let the Order Dept know that you would like the pre-paid curbside option, and we are happy to bring your bag out to you. As far as delivery, we have partnered with a local, independent courier service, which we coordinate for you. We are not on Doordash, Grubhub, etc. as we are not offering Restaurant Hot Food.

Yelp and Google say Julienne is open for Breakfast and Lunch...why?

That’s unfortunate out of date information, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
Alas, our efforts to correct the information have not worked.

Your website says Online Ordering...but it won't allow me to complete the order...and it's not like the other food order services I use, why?

We are in the works to update and streamline all our ordering operations to make it more consistent with other food services. Thank you for your patience! In the meantime, there is an icon on the top navigation bar of the website, allowing you to email your order directly to the Order Dept.

How can I get my food delivered...are you affiliated with any of the delivery services?

We are not affiliated with any of the food services. We don’t feel comfortable passing on the additional surcharge to customers. The delivery option we do offer is via Pasadena Courier, an independent 3rd party, with whom we’ve been working with for decades. When you place your order with our Order Dept, we are happy to give you the contact information.
