The Thanksgiving Countdown!! 

 

Did you know… It’s our busiest week of the year, as we’re making everything from scratch, from peeling the potatoes, apples, sweet potatoes to roasting the turkey necks and giblets for the gravy, to rolling out pie and gingerbread cookie dough. The Kitchen is bursting with good energy (and a lot of ranchero music!)  and comforting smells waft all the to the parking lot. 

 

The Packaging Ladies cheerfully and correctly package 600 pounds of garlic mashed potatoes, 600 pounds of stuffing, 200 quarts of gravy that Marcelino carefully, lovingly labors over, as he has for 40 years. No one else makes the gravy; it’s for Marcelino to do alone. 

 

The Order Department carefully triple checks every order, cross references the production sheets, and puts the final touch of a sticker and bow on every customer bag.  
 

All this is carefully overseen by the Managers who take great pride in the Quality from the initial order taking to the final check out with the customer. And, as is our tradition, I always offer a little cup of Holiday Cheer while you wait for your order to be gathered. It’s fun to visit and catch up with everyone, reminiscent of “old home week”. 

 

All that preparation and coordination make for a festive and fun day; and everyone’s good cheer is contagious.   

 

We are grateful to you for entrusting us with this hallowed family feast. For 40 years, it continues to be an honor to be represented at your table.
